Imagine a universe that has different physical laws than our own, another force of gravity, a particular convention of time. This universe has a specific temperature, smell, color, texture, humidity, light. It is inhabited by beings that have other coordinates of behavior and social interaction. They are affected by the conditions of this universe and you can even assume other logics of how these conditions are affecting them. Imagine the full range of interactions between the environment and these beings.

Take another moment in that universe to imagine that all of a sudden the temperature changes and that the smell you were experiencing shifts. You are not yet able to discern if it is actually shifting or if it is the temperature that is affecting your sense of smell. Is temperature also affecting the way bodies are moving? Everything seems slower. The air feels colder. Lights get brighter and brighter. You are not able to distinguish shapes around you anymore. Instead of light, you only see color. It could be a complete whiteout.

In War of Fictions performers embody a series of physical and emotional states to produce experiential and kinaesthetic environments. They create and perform within fictional atmospheres where their actions, figures and movements suggest particular ways of relating to space, time, gravity/weight, imagery and social behaviors. War of Fictions proposes a journey where the performers’ and the audience’s bodies are considered in all their potentiality to sense and navigate an environment where anything is possible, where ephemeral scenographies composed of the spectrum of sensory movements such as sounds, smells, lights, temperature fluctuations and touches, also take part in this fictional machinery.

Sidney Leoni ( Fr) develops works that draw attention on notions of sensation, affect and active perception and on a participatory interrelation with an audience. In 2010, he created in collaboration with several guest artists the project Undertone that proposes an immersive experience of several kinds of stimuli: tastes, sounds, smells, temperature fluctuations, touches in complete darkness. In 2008/09, he took part of the Master Program Research In Choreography at the University college of Dance in Stockholm and in 2004/06 as part of the Master Program Research in Dance at the University Sophia Antipolis in Nice.
Sidney performed in the piece Giant City (2009) by Mette Ingvartsen, The Host (2010) by Andros Zins-Browne and collaborated with Mychoreography (Sweden - 2008-10). He is currently involved in a new collaborative project with Luís Miguel Félix entitled War of Fictions which premiered in September 2011.

Luís Miguel Félix ( Pt) has most recently been developing his role as a performer with specific choreographers whose work and processes he considers unique and pertinent in the contemporary performance context. He is currently performing in the following pieces: Blue by Juan Dominguez, Undertone by Sidney Leoni, Low Pieces by Xavier Le Roy and in the collaborative project Oedipus, my foot directed by Jan Ritsema. As a choreographer his work confronts ways in which performance is witnessed and experienced by both the performer and spectator. Addressing these very concerns, he is currently collaborating with Sidney Leoni on the project War of Fictions, which premieres in September 2011.He graduated with a diploma in Theatre (Acting) from Esmae in Porto in 2006, and was a recipient of the danceWEB scholarship in 2007. He attended the dance program ex.e.rce at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier in 2008, where he initiated the online project Wedance.
