Current Artists in Residence at Zagreb Dance Centre are dancemakers:

Irena Mikec with colleagues in a "hall of mirrors".
Irena Mikec,
an emerging choreographer who studied dance in The Netherlands and is currently residing in Zagreb, engages in a new dance research in collaboration with Ines Sladić. The working title of the new duet Mirror deals with the perception of identity, action and reaction, broken illusions, the connection between identity and context.

The author aims to create a new poetic, yet physically dynamic dance vocabulary.

The resulting duet will premiere on November 24, at Zagreb Dance Centre (repeat performance on November 25).

Petra Zanki
The cycle of works entitled Antibodies started in 2009 and was initiated by Croatian dance artist Petra Zanki (Zagreb) and German dance artist Britta Wirthmüller (Leipzig).

The first part of this three part body of work Holding on to... was awarded 1st prize on the 9th Platform for Emerging Choreographers. The second performance in this cycle, Vierfüsser, premiered in Liepzig in December 2010 and subsequently presented at Zagreb Dance Centre has been invited to be presented at the festival Wunder Der Praerie in Mannheim and also at TaznQuartier in Vienna.

The two artists are currently collaborating on the third work: Antibodies #3 1 /2 & 2 /2. These two solos are inter-related, they consider the absent bodies, connecting two distant, although not as remote cities, two artistic individualities and two distinct sensibilities.

The first of the solos, resulting from this residency will premiere later in November 2011, at Zagreb Dance Centre.
